Trains in U.K..

Transportation- Very important criteria from the early past till date and undoubtedly in the future. In the booming prices of the petrol, it seems that in the coming decade, an average earning person can't afford to have a car for his personal use!! Especially in U.K. where the normal petrol rates are a bit higher than the present boosted rates in United States after the aftermath of hurricane Katrina and Rita. Moreover, in U.K. the system of "PAY AS YOU DRIVE" is also under considerative analysis for implementation to squeeze out the general public!!

When this is the case, the second option for the convenient transportation is obviously TRAINS. But do the trains really help a normal person to fulfill his economical needs???!! Well, the answer is quite critical!!! In most of the cases, the trains are literally taking the maximum out of a persons pocket!!

For example, one way ticket from Cheltenham spa station to say Luton is £49.00 and if you take a return trip ticket, then the two way journey will cost you only £48.00 Weird!! This is actually much better than the following one... Watch carefully...
A PEAK TIME return ticket from Birmingham to Bristol is costing £56.00 Very expensive right?? This is a direct journey without any break in-between!! Now, the return ticket from Birmingham to Cheltenham spa is £19.20 and the return ticket from Cheltenham spa to Bristol is only £10.50 !!! So, its altogether only £30.00 (rounded) There is a hell difference of £26.00 and YES, we are still dealing the rates from PEAK TIME. And at the same time, note that there are quite frequent trains between all these stations and hence this break up journey will take a maximum of only 20 minutes more than the former one!!!! If you are still in doubt with this, do check it out by yourself from >>
HERE

This is just one example... And there are too many if I start quoting the figures of many other routes!! And most of the times, the train fares from Southern England to Scotland is much more expensive than the flight tickets from many cheap airways!!
When the Great Britain is known for its democratic form of Government, it is in a verge to implement more taxations and new systems like pay as you drive etc... a question arises that if this developed nation is really giving a comfortable room and a sensible oppurtunity for an average person to move around with FULLER FREEDOM ???????????
